MARI CIAMPINI
Mari Ciampini is the newest member of p79. A WHS graduate, she received her B.A. in English with a concentration in creative writing from Fairfield University in 2002. After receiving her secondary education license from North Carolina State University in 2009, she embraced the inner-city public school system in Raleigh, NC, integrating technology and relevance in each unit she created for her students. Now, as a Blue Devil/Unicorn, she continues to encourage students for individual success through positive reinforcement, multi-layered projects and humor. She believes in keeping students actively engaged in their learning through leadership roles in group work and in the classroom so that students feel a sense of pride for what they contribute and control. She sets high expectations and shows students how they can meet and exceed them. Differentiating assessments and creating innovative projects that fit a student's world, Ms. Ciampini is ecstatic to be working within the p79 community, as it provides many wonderful opportunities for her to reflect on how to improve her practices for her students and the learning community at large.
